Pure House: A Harmonious Blend of Indoor and Outdoor Spaces

Creating Balance and Visual Proportions

Inspired by the challenge of integrating wide spread French windows into the interior design, Chien Ming Lai, Jun Ru Chen, and Wei Jhe Wong have crafted Pure House, a stunning residential space that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor elements. By extending the structural surface of the building to the interior, they have enhanced the weight of the main TV wall, creating a visually balanced and proportionate living space.

Located in the heart of downtown Hsinchu City, Taiwan, Pure House offers a unique living experience with its panoramic views and spacious interior. The designers have skillfully utilized two-inch hanging tiles and solid wood grilles on the facade of the building, bridging the gap between the indoor and outdoor spaces. This innovative approach not only creates a harmonious connection but also adds a touch of elegance to the overall design.

One of the standout features of Pure House is the hovering TV wall, which serves as the focal point of the living area. The use of copper orange titanium physical vapor deposition (PVD) board adds a touch of luxury and delicacy to the space. The designers have also incorporated neat height cabinets that free up the inner space, creating an unobstructed and spacious environment. The arc edge of the ceiling further softens the sharp angles, ensuring a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

Efficient space utilization was a key consideration in the design process. By reconfiguring the layout, the designers transformed three rooms into two, resulting in a larger public area. Additionally, the master bedroom features a dressing room with ample storage space. The master bathroom even includes a urinal, catering to the different usage habits of the occupants and prioritizing comfort and functionality.

The construction of Pure House took place from August 2018 to May 2019, following the design phase from January to July 2018. The location in a windy city necessitated the use of strong materials to ensure a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. The result is a design that not only maximizes the stunning views but also provides a sense of tranquility and harmony.

Pure House has been recognized for its exceptional design with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill, contributing to a better quality of life. The award-winning design of Pure House is a testament to the innovative thinking and meticulous craftsmanship of Chien Ming Lai, Jun Ru Chen, and Wei Jhe Wong.
